Octagonal Garden Fountain with Caryatid Statues

The heart of this fountain lives in its middle tier. Four classical caryatids stand around the central column in a quiet ring. Each one holds a large vessel — some balanced on the shoulder, others cradled at the waist. Their robes fall in soft, flowing folds. Their hair coils in the Grecian style. Walk around the fountain, and every angle gives you a different figure to discover.

Above them, the water gathers in a round upper basin. Its rim carries carved floral and vine detail. Small lion heads sit around the edge. They guide the water outward in fine, even streams. The top finial rises from the center. A classical maiden with a child in her arms. She crowns the whole composition — the highest point, and the quietest.

The broad octagonal pool at the bottom earns its own attention.Circular rosettes alternate with long, hanging garlands — all carved in relief across thick, solid marble blocks. The proportions feel grounded and sure. Together, the base and the figures above create a rhythm that reads as calm, balanced, and complete.
